Frankfurt Galaxy bolster secondary with signing of DB Jalen Clay

The Frankfurt Galaxy have added depth and experience to their defensive backfield, signing former Central Washington defensive back Jalen Clay for the 2026 European Football Alliance season.

Five years of college experience
The 6’1″, 175-pound defensive back appeared in 38 games for the Wildcats from 2020–2025, recording 65 tackles, three interceptions, and 18 pass breakups during his collegiate career. His most productive season came in 2023 when he earned Honorable Mention All-LSC honors with 30 tackles, one interception, and six pass breakups while helping lead his team to the NCAA Division II playoffs.

Reliable, disciplined defender
Clay brings a consistent, technically sound profile to the Galaxy secondary. His 18 pass breakups demonstrate strong coverage instincts and timing, while his tackling reliability (65 career tackles) shows willingness to contribute in run support. He also brings playoff experience and familiarity with structured defensive systems from his time in the competitive Lone Star Conference.

Key addition for pass-heavy league
In an EFA landscape increasingly dominated by passing attacks, Frankfurt adds a disciplined, experienced defensive back who understands how to compete against skilled receivers. Clay’s combination of size, technique, and five years of college experience provides immediate depth and competition in a secondary facing high-powered offenses across the league. His signing reflects Frankfurt’s commitment to strengthening their defensive backfield ahead of the 2026 campaign.
