Frankfurt Galaxy earn first EFA victory with 21-5 road win over Raiders Tirol

The Raiders Tirol (0-3) and Frankfurt Galaxy (1-2) entered Saturday’s European Football Alliance (EFA) matchup at Tivoli Stadium in Innsbruck searching for momentum, but it was the visitors who finally found it.

Behind a dominant defensive effort and timely offensive plays, Frankfurt Galaxy earned its first win of the 2026 season, defeating the Raiders Tirol 21-5 in Innsbruck.

Early promise for Tirol

The afternoon started well for the home side. After Frankfurt moved deep into Raiders territory on its opening possession, Jan Mayerhofer forced a fumble from Gerald Ameln and Precious Ogbevoen recovered it, giving Tirol an early spark.

Steven Krajewski quickly capitalized, finding Aaron Jackson for a 54-yard gain that set up a 43-yard field goal from Jonata Loria and a 3-0 lead.

Frankfurt answered with a Ryan Rimmler field goal, and what followed was a physical defensive battle with both teams struggling to string together consistent drives.

Galaxy seize momentum

The game began to swing in Frankfurt’s favor during the second quarter.

After a special teams mistake by Tirol handed the visitors favorable field position, quarterback Ethan Garbers finished the drive with a rushing touchdown. Although the extra point was blocked, Galaxy had moved in front 9-3.

The visitors added another critical score just before halftime.

Garbers connected with Brevin Easton for a 53-yard gain that moved the ball inside the six-yard line. Moments later, Frankfurt pulled out a trick play as Paul Kavadia Lenhardt took the snap and found Garbers in the end zone for a touchdown pass.

The successful extra point stretched the lead to 16-3 heading into the locker room.

Defense takes over

Any hopes of a Raiders comeback quickly disappeared after halftime.

Although Tirol managed a safety following a mishandled Galaxy punt snap to trim the deficit to 16-5, the offense could not build on the momentum.

Frankfurt’s defense controlled the second half. Rabbi Junior intercepted Krajewski before halftime, and Jaylen Clay added another interception later in the game. Chris Mulumba and Jahn Jesus Lara Perez consistently disrupted the pocket and prevented Tirol from establishing any rhythm.

A fourth-quarter field goal from Rimmler extended the lead before a late safety officially sealed the result.

Different paths ahead

For Frankfurt Galaxy, the victory provides a much-needed boost after opening the season with losses to the Paris Musketeers and Munich Ravens. While there are still areas to improve, the first win gives the club something positive to build on moving forward.

For the Raiders Tirol, the frustration continues. The defense once again showed it can compete, forcing turnovers and keeping the game within reach for long stretches. However, offensive consistency remains elusive.

At 1-2, Frankfurt remains firmly in the EFA playoff race while Tirol at 0-3 faces increasing urgency as the season moves deeper into the schedule.
