Japan: Fujitsu Frontiers dominate Fukuoka Suns in blowout win

The Fujitsu Frontiers improved their record to 3-1 with a commanding 62-7 victory over the Fukuoka Suns at the Kurume Sports Center Athletic Stadium. This game showcased the Frontiers‘ offensive prowess and defensive strength, leaving the Suns searching for answers as they fell to 0-4.

First half fireworks
Fujitsu wasted no time establishing dominance, with running back Takaki Miyake scoring on a 2-yard touchdown run early in the first quarter. Quarterback Takagi Tsubasa quickly followed up with an 11-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Sohei Itokawa and a stunning 75-yard bomb to WR Samajie Grant, putting the Frontiers up 21-0. The second quarter saw rookie running back Daichi Yamazaki add a 29-yard touchdown run, along with another touchdown pass from Takagi to Grant and a 23-yard TD pass from substitute QB Haruto Kamata to WR Genta Shibata, resulting in a staggering 42-0 lead at halftime.

Second half surge
Fujitsu continued to roll in the second half, with running back Masanari Kagawa scoring on a 10-yard run. Kamada then connected with Yamazaki for a 1-yard touchdown pass, further extending the lead. The Suns managed to get on the board with a 10-yard touchdown pass from QB Atsuya Handa to WR Ciei Joshiro, but it was too little, too late. Miyake capped off the scoring with a 34-yard touchdown run, sealing the Frontiers’ impressive victory. With this win, Fujitsu solidified their position as a top contender in the league.
