The Berlin Adler of the German Football League have added another weapon this off-season, this time in form of Serbian defender Nikola Vuksanovic.
Vuksanovic commented on his move to Berlin and the GFL:
“Although I got other offers from GFL teams too, I chose Berlin Adler, because I felt strong unity and a warm atmosphere, which was confirmed when I finally joined the team.”
The 6’1″, 280-pound defensive lineman brings size and experience to an Adler team looking to make some noise in the GFL next year. Vuksanovic began his career as a teenager with the Pancevo Panthers. In 2014 the defensive tackle moved up to the senior team and helped them win the CEI title. Since 2014, Vuksanovic has been a mainstay on the Serbian National team and has played for the Banat Bulls and Resita Locomotives of Romania.
Now the 28-year-old is eager to prove himself in one of Europe’s best football leagues:
“I have always thought that GFL is the strongest European league. There are many top-level players. Organizations are at the highest level. In order to become the best I can be, I have to compete with the best. Playing in the strongest European league is a new challenge for me, which, if I overcome it, will bring me good life opportunities.”
Vuksanovic joins fellow Serbian Nemanja Graovac in Berlin as coach Shuan Fatah looks to recruit valuable pieces this off-season, prior to the Adler’s long-awaited return to Germany’s top league.
