Germany: Ravensburg Razorbacks sign Sebastian Fandert as HC

The Ravensburg Razorbacks are the newest team in the German Football League and they have signed a new head coach in Dresden native Sebastian Fandert.

The 32 year old Fandert comes to the Razorabacks, who advanced to the GFL for the 2020 season, with a long and extensive resume that belies his young age.

Most recently he served as coach of the Luzern Lions in the Swiss National League and for the past two seasons he has been in charge of Team Czech Republic, Europe #12, leading them to second place in the Three Nations Cup in 2018.  He also coached the Leipzig Lions (Germany Div. III) in 2018, to a 6-2 regular season record. In 2017, he guided the Triangle Razorbacks to the Danish semifinals. As head coach and both offensive and defensive coordinator of the Pibram Bobcats in the Czech Republic in 2016, he led the team to the Czech Bowl final. Prior to that he was defensive coordinator for the Graz Giants (Austrian Football League, 2014), head coach for the Bienna Jets (Switzerland, 2013) and coached with the Assindia Lions (GFL2, 2012) and Braunschweig Lions in the German Football League (2011).

From 2012 to 2016, he honed his coaching skills at Eagle Point High School in Oregon and Westminster College Fulton (NCAA Div. III) while also attending a coaching internship at Ole Miss (University of Mississippi, NCAA Div.I).

Ravensburg downed the Kirchdorf Wildcats 40-28 and 58-34 in a two-game series to qualify to play in the GFL in 2020.
