Germany’s Dresden Monarchs set to face Wroclaw Panthers in Sunday livestream game

One of the German Football League’s and Europe’s preeminent teams, the Dresden Monarchs, will play host to Poland’s defending champions, and also an elite team in Europe, the Wroclaw Panthers, Sunday, September 20.

The Monarchs will play with an all German lineup, no imports.

Dresden finished second in the GFL North in 2019 with a 10-4 record and were knocked out of the playoffs in the semifinals by the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns. They were the fifth highest scoring offense averaging almost 30 points a game while being ranked as the third best defense.

The Panthers are the defending Polish champions and are also currently playing in Poland’s Liga Futbolu Amerykańskiego, LFA, and have won their two first games by lopsided margins. They have outscored their opponents 104-7.

Dresden Monarchs CEO Jörg Dreßler sees this game as a way to thank all the fans, sponsors and supporters in such a difficult year:

“Our entire club is looking forward to this game. Cheerleaders and players are finally allowed to show what they have been training so hard at for months. Of course, this game is also a big thank you to all the fans, supporters and especially to all the sponsors who have kept loyalty to us during this difficult year. We can’t be thankful enough for that.”
