After losing to  the Budapest Wolves in the season opener at Székesfehérvár, the Miskolc Steelers went looking for their first win of the season on the road against the Cowbells. Last year’s runner-up got off to a terrific start with Andre Whyte’s touchdown. Then Miskolc maintained its good form with Csaba Fenyvesi’s catch and Máté Jónás’ pick six (0-21). The Cowbells offense struggled with Márton Czirók at quarterback. But in the second quarter, head coach Troy Baker replaced him with Tamás Váry. This changed the offense which scored four touchdowns after the change. Nick Canter caught two passes from Váry, while TDs by Márton Czirók and Márton Mészáros turned it around (24-21). In addition, the home team’s defense also put up a solid performance in the second quarter

The third period did not bring too much excitement and points. The Cowbells settled the game in the last quarter with Dániel Zsila’s and Tamás Váry’s rushing touchdowns to increase the lead to 38-21. With this, the Miskolc Steelers lost their second game in the regular season. This win means that the Cowbells took another big step towards getting home field advantage in the semi-finals.
