Hildesheim Invaders bolster Oline with Scottish lineman Daniel Kane

The Hildesheim Invaders have strengthened their offensive front for the 2026 German Football League season, signing Scottish offensive lineman Daniel Kane, a 6’7″, 320-pound blocker who has proven his reliability across multiple European leagues.

A model of pass protection
Kane brings a track record of stellar pass protection to Hildesheim. In the 2025 season, he split time between the Düsseldorf Panther in the GFL and the Fehérvár Enthroners in the ELF, allowing just one total sack across nine combined games. The year prior, he was even more impressive, surrendering only one sack in 12 games while protecting the quarterback for the Berlin Rebels.

A well-traveled prospect
The 24-year-old from Inverness, Scotland began his football journey with the hometown Highland Wildcats at age 15 before developing his skills with the University of Stirling Clansmen from 2019-2022. His professional career started with the Braunschweig Lions in 2022, where he helped the team reach the GFL quarterfinals. He also brings international experience from a season with the Okanagan Sun in the Canadian Junior Football League.

Immediate impact expected
Kane’s consistency and experience make him an immediate upgrade for the Invaders’ offensive line. His ability to stay fundamentally sound in pass protection and his familiarity with the GFL should provide stability as Hildesheim looks to improve its offensive production in the 2026 campaign.
