Holland: Amsterdam Crusaders dominate stats after 2 weeks

After the first two weeks of play in the Eredivisie, the top league in Holland, the 2-0 Amsterdam Crusaders have taken a firm grip atop the standings and also in the stats.

Amsterdam leads all three key offensive categories with only three other teams in the top three of each.

The Crusaders have three players in the top three of each with the Hilversum Hurricanes (2-0) also with three, the Groningen Giants (2-0) with two and the Arnhem Falcons (0-2) with one.

Passing

Crusaders QB Jasper Nijland leads all passers with 431 yards and 6 TDs in two games. Maurice Tielen of the Hurricanes follows him but not far behind with 412 yards and also with 6 TDs. In third place is Emil Ter Veld of the Groningen Giants who has thrown for 237 yards and 4 TDs.

Rushing

Running back Miquel Castelen of the Crusaders has been unstoppable so far in 2019 and has racked up 299 yards and 3 TDs in only two games to lead the league by a wide margin. Following him in second is Hilversum RB Mani Blijd who has 131 yards while Lennard Harris of the Falcons is third with 123 yards.

Receiving

 

The league’s top receiver is Crusaders wideout Faas Wijn who has 222 yards and 4 TDs. Giants WR Edu Brooke is second with his 144 yards which includes a 92 yard, 2 TD performance against the Lightning Leiden in week 2. Robin Hetharia of the Hurricanes is third with 137 yards and 3 TDs.
