Holland’s Amsterdam Crusaders sign Belgian national team RB Rudy Mwamba

The Amsterdam Crusaders have signed Belgian running back Rudy Mwamba, an anchor on the Belgian Barbarians.

The 6’1″, 270 lb, 25 year old played for the Belgian runner-ups, the Brussels Tigers in 2017 after spending 10 years, 2005 to 2015, with the Belgian Black Angels. He helped them win the title in 2015 and was named Belgian Bowl MVP.

Mwamba spent part of the 2016 season with the Riverside City College Tigers in Riverside, California and the San Bernardino Valley College Wolverines.

He has been a key backfield component for the Belgian Barbarians, the Belgian national team. Playing both running back and defensive end in 2015 against Holland, Slovakia and Poland he scored two rushing touchdowns while recording two sacks and three tackles for loss.

The Amsterdam Crusaders have dominated the Dutch American football league for the past three years and have not lost a game to a Dutch team since 2015. In 2017, the Crusaders have decided to opt out of the Dutch league and play only international opponents.
