Istanbul Rams sign Japanese WR Muneyuki Kinoshita

The Istanbul Rams continue to bolster their roster as they prepare for the 2022 European League of Football season and have now added standout Japanese wide receiver Muneyuki Kinoshita to the lineup.

The 5’8″, 176-pound Kinoshita from Hyogo, Japan has been one of the key receivers for the Panasonic Impulse in Japan’s X League after graduating from Kansai University, and his performance earned him an invitation earlier this year to the CFL Global Combine in Toronto, Canada.

Kinoshita:

“I’m very excited to play for Rams. [Head] coach Val Gunn gave me this kind and precious opportunity, I really appreciate him, also I will never forget his kindness. So, I am quite willing to do anything for him.”

The Panasonic Impulse wideout has been one of the team’s leading returners in addition to his skills catching the ball. But his career in sports did not start out with football:

“I played baseball from kindergarten to high school. When I graduated from high school, some Japanese professional baseball teams asked me to come out, but I couldn’t give up my dream to play football. So, I entered Kansai University to play football.”

The versatile receiver is also a member of the Japanese National Team.

Panasonic’s current quarterback Anthony Lawrence:

“He is a great receiver! Very fast and quick as well as strong. He is one of the hardest workers and best teammates I’ve ever had. He is extremely selfless and will do anything to help the team!!”
