The Kąty Wrocławskie Jaguars (6-2) put together a dominant performance in the Polish Football League, rolling past the Lublin Tytani (2-6) 54-8 at home behind a balanced attack that produced points on offense and special teams.
The Jaguars seized control early and never looked back, building a commanding 42-6 halftime lead before cruising through the second half.
Fast start
Rafał Rutowicz opened the scoring with a five-yard touchdown pass to Fabian Paluszek, and a successful two-point conversion from Konrad Stępień to Jakub Krakowiak made it 8-0.
The offense exploded in the second quarter as Rutowicz connected with Michał Zuziak on a 76-yard touchdown and Aleksander Polaczek on an 18-yard scoring pass. After Dennis J. Battistelli Jr. broke free for a 65-yard touchdown run for the Tytani, the Jaguars answered immediately.
Paluszek returned a kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown, Daniel Bender added an 85-yard punt return score, and Rutowicz capped the half with a 70-yard touchdown pass to Bender.
Playoffs next
The Jaguars kept the pressure on after halftime. Rutowicz added touchdown passes to Jakub Krakowiak from 35 yards and Aleksander Polaczek from 32 yards to complete the scoring for the home team.
The Tytani added their final points when Karol Karpiuk returned a blocked field goal attempt 90 yards for a defensive two-point score.
Rutowicz once again sparked an explosive offensive performance, while Kąty Wrocławskie also dominated on special teams with touchdowns on both a kickoff and punt return.
With the victory, the Jaguars secured fourth place in the Polish Football League standings and will now host the Białystok Lowlanders in the quarterfinals as they continue their push toward the championship.
