Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts put in a sterling display as his team fought back from a 10-point deficit to beat reigning Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs in a thrilling 21-17 win.

The Chiefs looked in control after Patrick Mahomes had thrown to Justin Watson and Travis Kelce to give Kansas City a 17-7 half-time lead, a lead that Nick Sirianni’s side fought hard to reduce and then overtake.
Following the win, Hurts outlined the spirit within the Eagles camp;
“I don’t think we played clean tonight. I don’t think we played to our standard,”
“But I think the one thing you can’t quantify is the resilience that a team has, and the ability to see through things, and this team has that.”
Sirianni’s comments echoed that of his star quarterback;
“It’s the resiliency and togetherness that really stood out to me tonight,”

Sirianni was quick to state that the win does not make up for the 35-38 Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs;
“We weren’t thinking, ‘Hey, we’re coming up here to avenge a loss,’”
“That’s a different magnitude of game. That was for everything. So we’re just pleased to get the win tonight.”
“They ain’t giving us the rings back. I know that.” Siranni added.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes took the defeat personally and assessed his own shortcomings after the loss;
“I think offensively,”
“I’m just not where I want to be at this point in the season.” Mahomes concluded.
The two-time Super Bowl champion probably doesn’t need to beat himself too much over the result. Andy Reid’s side are still handily placed at 7-3 and will look to bounce back when they travel to Las Vegas to take on the Raiders. It was the Chiefs’ second defeat in three games, and that comes after a great run of form that saw the Chiefs win six on the bounce.
Though the Eagles had battled well to get back in front, the Chiefs still had a good chance to clinch a late win. With two minutes to play and a fourth-down converted, Mahomes threw an inch-perfect 51-yard touchdown pass that went through Marquez Valdes-Scantling’s hands.
A Justin Watson drop later on also cost Kansas a chance to get back into the lead.
