Six rounds into the X League Premier season, Tsubasa Takagi of the Fujitsu Frontiers, Victor Mitchell of the Panasonic Impulse and Reece Horn of IBM Big Blue have moved to the front of the passing, rushing and receiving races.
With several teams having played fewer games, however, the battles behind the leaders remain tight.
Takagi stretches passing lead
Tsubasa Takagi has extended his lead atop the passing standings, throwing for 1,370 yards and 14 touchdowns through seven games. The Fujitsu quarterback has completed 116 of 178 passes for 65.2% while averaging 7.7 yards per attempt.
Pierce Holley remains second despite the Obic Seagulls having played only five games. Holley has completed 98 of 150 attempts for 1,232 yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging 8.2 yards per attempt.
Garrett Safron of SEKISUI sits third with 1,158 yards and 10 touchdowns. Safron has completed 116 of 178 passes for 65.2%.
Mitchell pulls away on ground
Victor Mitchell continues to set the pace for Panasonic, carrying 74 times for 386 yards and eight touchdowns. He is averaging 5.2 yards per attempt through seven games.
Koki Miyake of Fujitsu has moved into second with 350 yards on just 51 carries, giving him an impressive 6.9-yard average. Miyake has scored three touchdowns.
Sho Yoshizawa of the Nojima Sagamihara Rise is close behind in third with 344 yards on 63 attempts. Yoshizawa is averaging 5.5 yards per carry and has scored one touchdown.
Horn takes over receiving race
Reece Horn has surged to the top of the receiving standings for IBM, catching 43 passes for 640 yards and eight touchdowns through six games.
Boogie Knight of SEKISUI is second but remains within striking distance with 42 receptions for 597 yards and six touchdowns. Knight is averaging 14.2 yards per catch.
Tay Cunningham of Obic holds third despite playing only five games. Cunningham has 31 catches for 529 yards and four touchdowns and leads the top three with an average of 17.1 yards per reception.
With the season moving deeper into the schedule, the margins are beginning to shift, but Takagi, Mitchell and Horn now own the top spots in the three major offensive categories.
