Kragujevac Wild Boars trounce Belgrade Blue Dragons, advance to Serbian final

The Kragujevac Wild Boars will get a chance to defend their Serbian title as they have moved on to the 2018 Serbian Bowl after defeating the Belgrade Blue Dragons easily, 49-14.

Kragujevac scored 28 unanswered points in a dominating second half to secure the win.

With the victory, the Wild Boars have qualified for their third straight Serbian Bowl where they will face arch rivals, SBB Vukovi Belgrade.

Quarterback Dalton Oliver threw four touchdown passes and scored another on his own. He distributed the ball well as Filip Nedeljkovic caught three while Strahinja Stepovic caught one. Running back Joshua Quezada also scored on a 25 yard run and Mihailo Novakovic scored the final on a one yard plunge. Petar Goic kicked all seven extra points.

Oliver wasted no time in the first quarter finding Nedeljkovic twice for touchdowns. In between, Bowen connected with Ramsey as the Wild Boars took a 14-6 lead into the second quarter.

Bowen struck back in the second quarter with a 59 yard touchdown pass to Ramsey and Ivan Pleva’s two point conversion tied the game at 14-14 midway through the quarter.

Quezada found a seam late in the first half and raced 25 yards to put the Wild Boars out in front 21-14 at the half.

That’s when the wheels fell off for the Blue Dragons.

Oliver was superb, running one in from nine yards out to increase the lead to 28-14 in the third quarter. Then he threw touchdown passes to Stepovic and Nedeljkovic. With the lead 42-14, Novakovic  hammered home the final touchdown.

The Wild Boars advance to Serbian Bowl IX where they will face SBB Vukovi Belgrade who also easily won their semifinal, beating the Indija Indians 49-7.
