The 3-2 Toronto Argonauts invade Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan Saturday night  to face the Saskatchewan Roughriders (1-3) in almost a do or die battle for the home team.

The Roughriders opened the 2017 season with a pair of losses although by a total of only four points before whipping the winless Tiger-Cats a couple of weeks ago. They are coming off a tough 27-10 loss to Calgary but need this win to stay close in the tight West division race.

Toronto has been playing solid football under new head coach Marc Trestman and leads the East division. The Argonauts are coming off an impressive 27-24 come from behind win over the Grey Cup champion Ottawa Roughriders last week and look poised to take control of the East.

The Roughriders and the Argonauts meet for the first time this season. The Roughriders split last season’s series opposite Toronto, winning the latter of the matchups on October 15th of last year, by a score of 29-11 from BMO Field.

Argos head coach Marc Trestman and Riders HC Chris Jones have never before squared off as head coaches but starting quarterbacks Ricky Ray and Kevin Glenn have a long history against each other.

Saturday’s game will mark the 17th time Ray and Glenn have been head-to-head starters, with Ray holding a 9-6 advantage along with one tie.

Heading into Week Six of CFL action, Ray ranks second in the CFL with 1,896 passing yards and six touchdowns on 156-of-228 passing (68.4%). He trails league-leader Trevor Harris, who has played one extra game, by 43 yards.

Kevin Glenn surpassed the 50,000 yards passing mark last week against Calgary and is now seventh on the all time passer list. Ricky Ray is number four with his 56,779 yards in a 15 year career.
