LIVE VIDEO STREAM: Denmark v. France

PREVIEW

– Graz, Austria

Monday night marks the first time the national teams for France and Denmark meet in national competition. Some of the players from Denmark and France might have met previously in a European Championship, but it was at the U-19 level.

This is Denmark’s second match at the European Championship, and France’s first. This may work to Denmark’s advantage, as Denmark has typically struggled to get started early in the games. Denmark may be without LB # 2 Timmi Kleinnibbelink Rysgaard and QB # 16 Mathias Lilhauge, who were both injured during the match against Austria, and are not expected to appear again in the tournament. On the other hand, there are positive reports of LB # 40 Philip Nørregaard Hargett, who was injured in camp days leading up to the tournament and did not play against Austria, but is probable for Monday night’s game.

The match against Austria was in many ways hard for the Danish team, with a major defeat and two players out with injuries for rest of the tournament but Denmark finished strongly with a touchdown, and the players are keen to keep this momentum into the match against France.

France finished in 2nd place at the last European Championship in 2010, and is considered to be favorites in the match against Denmark. However, France is only returning 12 players of 45 from the 2010 European Championships and has many young players unexperienced in European wide competition. France is consider to be fast and athletic, so be prepared for some exciting action Monday night at the UPC arena in Graz, Austria!
