LIVESTREAM Baltic League: Riga Bears @ Vilnius Iron Wolves, Oct. 18, 13:30 CET (1:30 pm, 7:30 am ET)

The Vilnius Iron Wolves (1-1) will play host to the Riga Bears (1-1) at VRA Stadium Saturday, October 18 in Lithuania as the Baltic League enters the fourth weekend of play. Both teams are looking to gain momentum after mixed results in their opening games.

Iron Wolves bounce back
The Iron Wolves are coming off a 32-0 shutout of the Klaipeda Curonians, showcasing their defensive prowess and offensive firepower. This victory followed a tough 38-0 loss to the Tartu Titans in their season opener. With a strong lineup ready to take the field, the Iron Wolves are eager to build on that win.

Offensive firepower
Leading the charge for Vilnius is running back Edmundas Kunča (#25), who had a standout performance against Klaipeda with three touchdowns and two receptions. Quarterback Pijus Kasteckas (#6), known for his composure and sharp passing, will look to guide the offense effectively. Wide receivers Tomas Kučinskas (#4) and Jokūbas Pažūsis (#45) provide reliable targets, with Kučinskas being a veteran presence and Pažūsis bringing youthful energy to the passing attack. Adding depth to the backfield is Vladimir Alekseev (#30), who also serves as a playing coach.

Defensive strength
On defense, Denis Ovčarov (#69) has been a standout, recording one sack, two fumble recoveries, and three tackles against Klaipeda. Linebacker Mihai Nitu (#62) and defensive back Norbertas Mikalajūnas (#46) add toughness and reliability to the unit, while veteran safety Gytis Dainauskis (#32) brings experience and ball-hawking skills to the secondary.

Riga Bears looking to rebound
The Riga Bears are also coming off a mixed start, having defeated the Curonians 30-0 in their first game but falling to the Dukes 26-12 in their second outing. The Bears boast a mix of veteran and rookie talent, particularly at the wide receiver position. Rookie Frenks Sluka (#2) made an impressive debut, scoring three touchdowns against Klaipeda, while fellow rookie Emils Racko (#19) has also made his mark, scoring both as a running back and a receiver.

Key players for Riga
Running back Romans Mikulko (#70) established a strong run game in Week 1, racking up over 100 yards, while veteran Janis Jermacans (#23) will look to contribute as well. Quarterback Emils Kaufmanis (#5) has accounted for three passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown in his first two starts, though he has thrown an interception in each game. As the playing offensive coordinator, Kaufmanis will need to find consistency against a tough Vilnius defense.

With both teams looking to secure an important win, this matchup promises to be an exciting clash in the Baltic League.
