The 1-0 Evry Corsaires (1-1) will take on the Asnieres Molosses (1-1) in Paris, Saturday, March 7 as the French League of American Football heads into its third round of play.
The Asnieres were throttled two weeks ago by the La Courneuve Flash 52-6 after they had beaten the Saint-Ouen Cougars 34-7 to open the season. Evry lost to the newly-promoted Villeneuve d’Ascq Vikings 13-6 in their season opener but then defeated the Saint-Ouen Cougars 23-12.
Asnieres starting quarterback Gabriel Cousineau threw for a mere 64 yards in the loss to the Flash with back up Camille Thouary adding 29. This was a far cry from Cousineau’s 206 yards in the win over the Cougars. Steve Happi scored the lone touchdown against La Courneuve on an eight yard run. Cheikhou Sow and Ralph Rosalie will need to regain the form they had in the opening win over the Cougars.
For the Corsaires, All France WR Anthony Couvin has been everything. He has amassed 391 yards in total offense (rushing, receiving, kick returns) in two games. For Evry to have a chance against a Molosses team bent on atoning for the embarrassing loss to La Courneuve, Couvin will need the help of his teammates.
