LIVESTREAM France: Grizzlys Catalans @ Toulouse Ours, April 8, 19:00 CET (7 pm, 1 pm EDT)

The French D1 Elite Championship league heads into the seventh weekend of action as the Grizzlys Catalans (4-1-1) head to Toulouse to face the Toulouse Ours (3-2-1) on Saturday, April 8.

These two teams played to a 21-21 tie six weeks ago, but Toulouse has been in a slump since then, losing two of their last three. Toulouse started the 2023 season by beating the Aix Argonautes 17-7 and Grenoble Centaures 40-2, tying the Grizzlys Catalans 21-21 before dropping a 13-6 decision to the Nice Dauphins and losing 27-0 to the Marseilles Blue Stars. They rebounded with a 16-14 win over the Centaures a week ago. Catalans had opened the season with a tough 26-14 loss to the division leading Marseilles Blue Stars before beating Nice 20-15. They then played the Toulouse Ours to a 21-21 tie and then defeated the Aix Argonautes 14-7, the Centaures 28-26 and Nice again, this time by a score of 10-6.

The Grizzlys, under head coach Enver Ramovic, rely on former Ohio State quarterback Jagger Laroe and Canadian wide receiver Jonathan Breton Robert who had a standout career at Laval University. Laroe also has  last year’s DI leading receiver, Idriss Ramky, along with Aymeric Guillemaud.

The Toulouse offense has been solid behind the play of former Army quarterback Tony Brown. He has wide receiver Nemieceo Loureiro and French national team wideout Pierre Hilderald to throw to. Brown relies on his legs as much as his arm so he can cause problems once he gets to the second level.

Like the last time these two met, this one is a toss up.
