LIVESTREAM Germany PPV: Berlin Rebels @ Kiel Baltic Hurricanes, Aug. 1, 16:00 CET (4 pm, 10 am ET)

The Kiel Baltic Hurricanes (1-6) return home Saturday to face the Berlin Rebels (2-4) in a matchup that carries major implications at both ends of the GFL North standings. Berlin is trying to stay in the playoff race, while Kiel is fighting to avoid the relegation playoffs, making every possession critical with the regular season entering its final stretch.

Hurricanes searching for breakthrough

The Baltic Hurricanes enter the game looking to bounce back after a 31-22 loss to the Düsseldorf Panther.

PJ Settles once again showed why he remains the centerpiece of the Kiel offense, scoring on an 18-yard touchdown run before later connecting with Jarvis McClam on a 40-yard touchdown pass. Lorenz Rotermund also found the end zone on the ground, but a 100-yard kickoff return and an 83-yard touchdown run by Düsseldorf proved too much to overcome.

Now back at home, Kiel hopes to turn another competitive performance into its second win of the season.

Rebels riding comeback momentum

The Rebels head north with confidence after one of their biggest wins of the season, rallying from a 16-point deficit to defeat the Braunschweig Lions 24-22.

Quarterback Tyquell Fields sparked the comeback with a touchdown pass to Filip Uderhardt before Naz Bombata added a rushing score just before halftime. In the second half, Berlin’s defense took over. Lamonte McDougle came up with a momentum-changing interception, Exavier Edwards sealed another scoring threat with a pick in the end zone, and Emil Fuchs’ late touchdown run proved to be the game-winner.

The victory kept the Rebels firmly in the hunt for a playoff berth and showed the resilience they will need over the final weeks of the season.

Playmakers headline matchup

This game features two quarterbacks capable of extending plays with both their arms and legs.

Settles gives the Hurricanes a dual-threat weapon and will again lean on receivers Jarvis McClam and Anousheh Fulford to stretch the field.

For Berlin, Fields is coming off one of his best performances of the season behind an improving offensive line. His versatility has opened up the offense, while Gabriel Boccella, Lamonte McDougle, JJ Aboagye, Paul Seifert and Exavier Edwards continue to make plays on defense.

Everything on the line

Neither team can afford to ease off now.

The Rebels know another victory would strengthen their playoff hopes, while the Baltic Hurricanes are desperate to climb away from the relegation zone. With both clubs chasing vastly different goals but facing the same urgency, expect an intense, physical battle in Kiel that could have a major impact on the GFL North race.
