LIVESTREAM: Germany – Stuttgart Scorpions @ Allgäu Comets – May 20, 3p (9a EST)

The record-setting 1-1 Allgäu Comets will welcome the 0-3 Stuttgart Scorpions to Illerstadion in Kempten, Germany for their third game of the German Football League season Sunday, May 20.

In their first win of the season last week against the Ingolstadt Dukes, the Comets and quarterback Justin Sottilare put on an aerial show as the Allgäu “Flying Circus” took off. Sottilare shattered his own German Football League record of 69 pass attempts set back in 2014 by throwing 84 passes completing 49 in a 52-42 win. In this game, four of the Comets six receivers caught more than 100 yards in passes.  Jordan Paul caught 17 passes for 127 yards and a touchdown, Spencer Cutlan caught nine for 120 and three touchdowns, Martin Emos, eight for 119 and a touchdown and Feli Manoka seven for 133 and a touchdown. Swedish speedster Jonatan Gihl had seven catches for 54 yards and a touchdown as well.

Scorpions new head coach Jermaine Guynn is definitely looking to improve on the season start. New quarterback Rick Webster has been brought in to replace Frank Brock. Webster, who finished fourth in passing in the GFL with the Ingolstadt Dukes last year, threw for 125 yards in last week’s loss to the Schwabisch Hall Unicorns. He led the Dukes to the playoffs in their first year in the GFL and he has had an extra week to practice with the offense and will be in better sync this week. Running back Giacomi De Pauli is the team’s leading rusher with 157 yards while Pascal Flöser leads the team in receiving yardage with 119.

So the stage is set for an aerial assault and an offensive display from both teams. Both secondaries will be put to the test today.
