The Kirchdorf Wildcats (3-5-1) head to Ingostadt, Germany to take on the Ingolstadt Dukes (2-6-1) in German Football League action August 4.

Ingolstadt has been on a three game losing streak dating back to June 16 when they lost to the Frankfurt Universe. Since then they have also dropped games to the Marburg Mercenaries and the Munich Cowboys.

Meanwhile, Kirchdorf is coming off a 13-12 win over the Cowboys two weeks ago in one of the only German Football League games played during the July break.

The Dukes, in their second season in the GFL, have lost six of their last seven games after opening the season with a win and a tie.

The Ingolstadt offense is led by quarterback Nelson Hughes III who is  averaging 231 yards a game, good for seventh overall in the GFL. He has thrown 24 touchdown passes in nine games. His favorite targets are Anthony Mella, who has  caught 34 passes for 615 and nine touchdowns, and Lorenz Regler who has 26 catches for 530 yards and seven touchdowns,  and Belgian receiver Robin De Ruyter with 25 receptions for 396 yards and three touchdowns. Jakob Wenzel leads the team in rushing with 293 yards.

Linebackers Patrick Engelhardt and Cory Magwood and  lead the team in tackles and defensive back Sterry Codrington is a key in the secondary and along with 50 tackles has recorded three interceptions.

Kirchdorf on the other hand have lost three consecutive games including two to the Comets.

Wildcats quarterback Cameron Birse  has thrown for 1,210 yards and 12 touchdowns so far this season, but Tom Schmidtke played the entire game at quarterback against Munich, throwing for 251 yards and one touchdown. Wide receiver Clemens Erlsbacher is the leading target with 698 yards receiving and seven touchdowns. He is followed by Brandon Cox with 34 catches for 454 yards.

A win by the Dukes in this game would pull them ahead of Kirchdorf in the standings while if the Wildcats win, they would have created a gap between the two.
