LIVESTREAM Hungary: Budapest Wolves @ Gyor Sharks, May 15, 15:00 CET (3 pm, 09:00 am ET)

The Hungarian Football League continues on Saturday, May 15 with the Győr Sharks hosting the Budapest Wolves.

The Sharks lost their first game of the season in Székesfehérvár to the Fehervar Enthroners, 35-14.

Still, the Sharks kept the game even in the first half but the defending champions rallied in the third quarter to pull away for a convincing win. Győr is still facing the injury bug but starting quarterback Chris Jeffrey seems to have settled in nicely and is playing solid football. Add to this the fact that  receiver László Benedek, who had an outstanding 2020 Division I season, looks very good at this level as well.

The Budapest Wolves will make their debut on Saturday. The five-time league champions have undergone some change since the last HFL season two years ago. Márton Czirók’s returns gives depth to the receivers. Also, Darrell Tate is an important addition to the roster. Moreover, the defense has been strengthened as well. The arrival of David Richardson, David Casarrubias and Max Nedzelsky will make the Wolves a title contender this year for sure.

In addition, Sharks’ head coach Gábor Boda, and Wolves’ István Kovács are longtime friends. They even coached the Wolves together. This is a matchup to be followed.
