Germany and Slovakia sit at 3-0.
“We had a good start against Czechia with an explosive start and at the end our engines were a bit lower,” said Germany head coach Frank Grimm, whose team opened with a 44-12 win over Czechia then beat Israel 57-34. “The game against Israel was so explosive it kept us going. We got the momentum after halftime and turned it into our game in the second half.”
Host Austria beat Switzerland and Czechia before falling to a defeat narrow to Slovakia in a 47-32 loss.
“I am really proud of our team,” said head coach Cameron Frickey. “We had three strong opponents; we won convincingly twice and lost narrowly once. Tomorrow everything is open, we still have all chances to reach the semifinals, but we need to win both games for that.”
The U15 mixed category reflects flag football’s highly inclusive nature and integration of male and female athletes in international sport.
