The undefeated Milano Seamen (6-0), ranked #9 in Europe, welcome the 2-4 Bergamo Lions to Stadio Breda Sesto San Giovanni, in Milano, Italy Saturday, May 5, looking ti improve to 7-0.
The Seamen are coming off a decisive 35-13 victory over the Parma Panthers while Bergamo has lost their last two, including a tough 47-33 loss to the Milano Rhinos.
Milano boasts the best offense (36.8 pts.game) and best defense (8.7 pts/game) in Italy. Bergamo has the second-best rushing offense in the league averaging 126.8 yards a game while the Seamen are the second best against the run.
Seamen quarterback Luke Zahradka leads the league in passing yardage with 1,440 yards and has thrown 22 touchdown passes. His favorite target, Xavier Mitchell is the league leader in receiving yardage with 627 and has caught 11 touchdowns. In other words, to stop the Seamen you first have to find a way to disrupt this connection. And if somehow the Lions succeed with that task, Milano has other weapons including Stefano Di Tunisi who has 31 catches for 490 yards.
Bergamo has suffered through a spate of injuries this season and will be in tough in this game.
