The league-leading Bolzano Giants (3-0) will host the winless Bologna Warriors (0-2) Sunday, April 7 in Italy’s Div. I.
Bolzano has opened the season in Italy with three straight wins. First the Giants came out 41-7 winners over the Torino Giaguari and then defeated Bergamo 28-24 and the Parma Panthers 20-6. Bologna on the other hand has lost both games they have played in, 40-20 to the Lazio Ducks and 41-6 to Milano.
The Giants are third in Italy in offense producing 304.7 yards per game, and second in defense allowing just 205. Bologna is dead last in both categories with 120 yards of offense a game while giving up 374.
The Giants QB, Austin Gahafer Giants is the second leading passer in Italy with 649 yards and 9 TDs in two games. His favorite target, Mark Simone is the runaway receiving leader averaging 102 yards per game, almost double that of the second leading receiver.
In the Warriors two losses quarterback Nicolò “Willo” Scaglia has thrown for a total of 120 yards while running back Ervis Cira has averaged 60 yards per game.
This will be a tough task for the Warriors.
The Giants are looking to remain undefeated and with the Parma Panthers surprising win over the Milano Seamen, Bolzano will be looking to surge ahead in Italy.
