The Mexicas (2-1) take on the winless 0-3 Condors in a rematch of the opening day Liga de Futbol Americano (LFA) game between the two which saw the Mexicas stage a second half comeback to beat the Condors 36-19.
In that contest, the Mexicas trailed 19-13 at the half but mounted a furious second half, exploding for 23 points. Quarterback Ricardo Quintana threw three touchdown passes one each to Guilermo Villalobos, Vladimr Araiza and Fernando Alvarez while running back Terrill Gourdine and Araiza scored rushing touchdowns. The Mexicas then overwhelmed the Fundidores 44-15 in their second game before having to concede a game to the Dinos following a player revolt prior to the scheduled game. The issue, related to insurance, has been resolved but not without the game being counted as a loss for the Mexicas.
The Condors have struggled in all three of their losses. Following the loss to the Mexicas, they dropped a a 46-26 decision to the Raptors and then lost 33-24 to the Mayas. They have performed well at times during games but also suffered through stretches of poor play in between.
In order to get into the win column, the Condors will have to play a consistent game today.
