Marist brings momentum south
Marist opened PFL play with a convincing 42-7 victory over Presbyterian, piling up 444 yards while holding the Blue Hose to 232.
Quarterback Sonny Mannino presents the biggest problem for the Stetson defense. The graduate has thrown for 762 yards and four touchdowns while also leading the Red Foxes with 210 rushing yards and five scores.
Marist has also been dangerous on special teams, blocking a kick in all four games, including four punts.
History favors the Red Foxes
Saturday marks the 13th meeting between the programs. Marist leads the series 10-2 and has won six straight, including a 41-13 victory last season.
There is one encouraging historical detail for the Hatters: both of their victories over Marist came at Spec Martin Memorial Stadium. After a demanding opening month, Stetson gets its opportunity to begin PFL play on familiar ground. Pasted markdown
