The UW-River Falls Falcons (3-0) travel to Whitewater, Wisconsin, Saturday to face the UW-Whitewater Warhawks (3-0) in a heavyweight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener at Perkins Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Central, 20:00 CEST.
Falcons arrive with a statement win
No. 2 UW-River Falls has done little wrong through three games. The Falcons opened with a 73-7 rout of Southern Virginia, beat Coe 38-6 and then went on the road to defeat Wartburg 31-14 in a top-10 matchup.
The trip to Whitewater also offers the Falcons a chance to prove last season was no one-off. River Falls snapped a 22-game losing streak against the Warhawks with a stunning 52-14 victory in 2025, its first win in the series since 2001. Whitewater still owns a 44-21-2 advantage in the 67 previous meetings.

Warhawks have been overwhelming
The Warhawks have been equally emphatic. Whitewater beat Carleton 69-7 and Saint Xavier 49-14 before traveling to Pennsylvania and dismantling Keystone 69-0.
That last performance was particularly unforgiving. The Warhawks allowed only five first downs, one rushing yard and 69 total yards while piling up 479 yards themselves.
Conference race starts immediately
Both teams enter 0-0 in WIAC play, meaning there is no easing into the conference schedule.
For River Falls, Saturday is an opportunity to reinforce its place among the country’s Division III elite. For Whitewater, it is a chance to avenge last year’s emphatic defeat and show that its explosive 3-0 start carries directly into WIAC competition.
