LIVESTREAM Poland – Battle for the Capital: Warsaw Mets @ Warsaw Eagles, April 27, 16:00 CET (4 pm, 10 am EDT)

The Warsaw Eagles (1-1) will play host to their cross-town rivals the Warsaw Mets (1-1) as the Polish Football League enters the third weekend of action.

The Mets started the season off with a 27-22 win, on the road, over the Kety Wroclawskie Jaguars, only to open up at home in a repeat of their semi-final game last year, in which they faced the Silesia Rebels and lost a high scoring game 43-40. Meanwhile, Eagles opened up with a 19-9 home loss against the Krakow Kings and turned around and beat the defending Polish Champions, the Bialystok Lowlanders, on the road, 36-14.

Interesting, note about the first of two “Warsaw Derbies,” in 2024, is that both teams will be playing without their defensive import. Short of any last minute appeals, both imports will be sitting out this game as a result of the one game suspension associated with a targeting penalty.

The Mets won both games between the two teams in 2023, 27-20 and 13-7.
