LIVESTREAM Poland: Kąty Wrocławskie Jaguars @ Warsaw Mets, June 9, 13:00 CET (1 pm, 7 am EDT)

The Jaguars (1-5) will travel from Kety Wroclawskie to Warsaw to avenge their season opening loss to the Mets (1-5) as the Polish Football League winds up its second to last weekend of play.

Unlike the season opener which saw the Mets defeat the Jaguars 27-22, this game has the potential to affect the playoff picture. The loser will, mathematically, be eliminated from playoff contention, and the winner may still have a chance to clinch a playoff spot in the final week of the season, but will need some help along the way. The winner has a few ways in, but all of them include winning the final two games.

The Mets path is a little more complicated, but with the Bialytok Lowlanders 32-13 loss yesterday to the Warsaw Eagles, they will simply need to beat the Lowlanders next week, and get some help from the Rebels. If the Mets win today, they will need one of the following conditions to be met:

  1. They have to beat the Lowlanders by 13+ and have the Silesia Rebels win at least one
  2. They have to beat Lowlanders next week, and have the Rebels lose both, and Mets end the season with fewer points given up than one of those two teams

The Jaguars have a little easier route to the post season, but have a little more complicated situation. They have 12 key players who are both on their roster and on the Wroclaw Panthers’ roster, and the Panthers play at the same time today in the European League of Football.

To make the post season, the Jaguars will need one of the following to happen:

  1. They have to beat the Rebels in week 8, and have the Lowlanders to lose next week
  2. They have to have the Rebels lose tonight, and then beat the Rebels by 24+ next week
  3. The have to have the Rebels and Lowlanders lose both of their last two games and Jaguars to give up fewer points than one of those two teams
    Current Points given up:
    Lowlanders=169
    Jaguars=202
    Rebels=211
    Mets= 241

So there’s plenty at stake this afternoon for both teams.
