LIVESTREAM Poland: Krakow Kings @ Silesia Rebels, June 9, 17:00 CET (5 pm, 11 am EDT)

The final game of week 7 in the Polish Football League which pits the Silesia Rebels (3-3) against the visiting Krakow Kings (5-1) will have impact on the American Football landscape in Poland, both on and off the field.

The game, being dubbed #GramydlaWojtusia (“We play for Wojciech”), will serve as a fundraiser for a teenage fan of American Football who attends almost all of the Silesia Rebels home games. He was born with a rare gene mutation that severely impacts his day to day life. The Rebels have coordinated with the city of Katowice to play the game in the City Stadium, which will give American Football fans a preview of the, proposed, neutral site location of this year’s Polish Bowl.

On the field, the Silesia Rebels will punch their ticket to the post-season by avenging their 48-23 week 3 loss in Krakow. Depending on the results of this game, and a few others in the final two weeks, the Rebels can finish the regular season anywhere from second to fourth. If the Rebels are able to win by 26+ points and the Warsaw Eagles win their next after beating the Lowlanders yesterday, the Rebels will finish in second place and the Kings will be third, meaning these two teams will face each other for a third time in the semifinals, on the same field.

The Kings will take the second stingiest defense in the league (110 points given up) and the second most productive offense in the league (201 points scored) into Katowice with the hopes of clinching a home field semifinal game. The league has cleared import quarterback Jack Ball, to play this week, after his ejection for fighting in the last game. However, the biggest question will be if the Kings will put him on the field or keep him in reserve, knowing their seeding in the postseason will be based solely on their season finale against the Warsaw Eagles, regardless of how either team does this week.
