The 0-1 Zielona Gora Wataha will play host to the 1-0 Olsztyn Lakers Sunday, March 31 in the second round of play in Poland’s Liga Futbolu Amerykańskiego.
The Wataha opened the 2019 season in the LFA, their first in the top league, with a disappointing 13-6 loss to the Poznan Armia last week. Olsztyn, in the other hand were 38-35 winners over the Wyszkow Rhinos.
Zielona Gora head coach Mike Sholars will again look to his quarterback Kenyatte Allen, who had a frustrating game in the loss to Poznan, and running back Krystian Wójcik. Allen has had another week of practice to get in sync with his receivers.
The Lakers with head coach Gray Levy and quarterback Andrew Mathews have a potent offense as shown by the 38 points they put up last week. Defensive back and kick returner Demetrius Allen proved that he is dangerous and will pose a challenge for the Wataha defense led by Patryk Wójcik.
