The 1-0 Wroclaw Panthers head to Opole, Poland to take on the Opole Towers Saturday, March 30 in the second round of Poland’s Liga Futbolu Amerykańskiego.
This is the opening game of the season for Opole, newcomers to the LFA while Wroclaw, championship finalists in 2018, disposed of the Bialystok Lowlanders 45-6 last week.
Towers head coach Tim Bishop. , who guided the team through the 2018 season and promotion to the top league, has signed Markus Hodges as his quarterback Hodges most recently played quarterback for the Sremska Legionaries in Serbia in 2018.
In the Panthers rout of the the Lowlanders last week, quarterback Chris Forcier threw two touchdown passes and ran another one in himself. He left the game in the third quarter with Wroclaw leading 31-6. His replacement, Bartosz Dziedzic, added the final touchdown after Konrad Starczewski had scored on a 10 yard run.
The Towers enter the game fully aware of the odds stacked against them and look at this game as a litmus test of where they stand.
