The Łódz Wilki (0-0) and Ząbki Dukes (0-0) open their Polish Football League campaigns at the new facility on 61 Karpacka Street in Łódz, with both teams aiming to set a positive tone for the 2026 season and showcase their offseason work.
Wilks confident in all-around preparation
Despite this being their first official game, the Wilki are riding a wave of confidence from their preseason preparations. Linebacker Mateusz Borowik stated the team feels “well prepared not only physically, but also mentally for any opponent,” and has specifically analyzed the threats posed by the Dukes. They will look to their offense, which has prepared to score “many more touchdowns,” to start strong.

Dukes debut a significantly upgraded roster
Ząbki enters the new season with an ambitious project built around quarterback Trevon Wilkenson and a roster notably strengthened by several players from the Warsaw Eagles, including Adam Jóźwiak, Wojtek Bator, and Kamil Horszczaruk. Head coach Phillip Dillon highlighted that the team has “significantly strengthened” key positions like wide receiver and the offensive line that were previously weaknesses, and feels better prepared than in recent years.
A fresh start for both clubs
This season opener is a clean slate. For the Dukes, it’s the first chance to prove their upgraded roster can compete at a higher level. For the Wilki, it’s an opportunity to defend their home turf and build momentum from day one.
