Polish Championship Game: Bialystok Lowlanders v. Wroclaw Panthers, Nov. 14, 15:30 CET (09:30 ET)

The Bialystok Lowlanders enter this game after a 41-20 win against the Tychy Falcons in the semi-finals. The Lowlanders are led by running back Glen Toonga who has been an absolute force this season, running through arm tackles and outrunning defenders since week 1. Defensively, the Lowlanders are filled with Polish talent such as Mateusz Dzioban and Kondrad Paszkiewicz. This domestic talent mixed with imports Tommy Kaczocha and David Muller make for a solid defensive unit. Bialystok will need a big game from their quarterback Brandon Gwinner to pull off the upset. Gwinner on the championship matchup:

“Winning the championship would mean a lot, my goal is to always win a championship for whoever I am playing for. I know how bad the team wants a chance to be champions, so I will do anything possible for us to get it.”

Standing across the field from the Lowlanders will be the undefeated Wroclaw Panthers. The Panthers dominated the 2020 season both domestically and internationally. They even beat Bialystok convincingly 37-13 in the regular season. The Panthers defense is stacked with Polish national team players, but make no mistake who the leader is. Former CFL player Thiadric Hansen has been a unlockable force this year terrorizing quarterbacks and stuffing running lanes. Offensively Wroclaw’s passing game has been crisp. Polish quarterback Bartek Dziedzic has been finding his receivers well all season. That being said the identity of the Wroclaw offense is their powerful running attack. Running back Ryan Tuiasoa has been running wild through Poland this year behind an excellent offensive line. Tuiasoa on the championship:

“Championships are special and winning the title is always the goal. The players and staff work very hard here so winning it all will feel great for everyone after the strange circumstances this year”

This championship game has all the makings of a fantastic matchup. Both teams are inn the championship for a reason. They are a talented and hungry bunch looking to prove themselves and become champions this Saturday!
