The unbeaten Lisboa Devils (2-0) will play host to the undefeated Cascais Crusaders (2-0) as the Portuguese Federation of American Football, FPFA, rolls into its third round of play.
This will be a battle for first in the FPFA’s South Conference.
Lisboa whipped the Lisboa Navigators 28-6 to open the season and then overwhelmed the Paredes Lumberjacks 42-0. The Crusaders handed the Navigators a similar loss, beating them 33-9 after dominating Paredes 41-6.
The Devils have scored 70 points in the two games and allowed just six while Cascais has put up 74 and surrendered 15. The two teams are as closely matched as possible.
These two teams met twice in 2019 with Lisboa coming out on top in both, but just barely. They took the first game 19-15 and then scraped by the Crusaders 13-12 in the semifinals.
The Devils are winners of the Portuguese title for three of the last four years including 2019 when they downed the Porto Mutts in the championship game 23-6.
