For the second year in a row, the Judean Rebels and Tel Aviv Pioneers will face each other in the championship game in Israel – Israel Bowl IX.
This is the fourth straight year that the two clubs will meet in the postseason, including a Judean victory last year in Israel Bowl VIII.
The Pioneers are making their third trip to the final. Quarterback Ronny Moscona has been steady throughout the season and scored a rushing touchdown in the semi-final win over the Jerusalem Lions. Tel Aviv will have rookie running back Yuval Fenta who led the league in rushing, but will be without injured captain and star middle linebacker Asaf Katz.
Rebels quarterback Dani Eastman was a one-man wrecking crew in the semifinal versus the Haifa Underdogs. He finished 13 of 19 for 186 yards and four touchdowns, adding 10 carries for 117 yards and a score, plus two picks and a pass breakup. The Pioneers will have to find a way to neutralize him.
The Rebels are anchored in the trenches with standout left tackle Yaniv Kovalski and star defensive tackle Uria Loberbom.
