A battle at the top of the top of the Spanish league East standings comes our way this weekend as we have the undefeated Badalona Dracs (3-0) traveling across town to face the L’Hospitalet Pioners (2-1) who are currently on a two game unbeaten streak after falling in the first week of competition.
The Dracs are proving why they are a top flight team in the Spanish League as they have been hovering around the 50-point mark over their first three games, beating the Mallorca Voltors 54- 9 in their first game and taking that momentum into a 50-7 win over the Barcelona Pagesos before beating the Zaragoza Hurricanes 49-14. But with all those scorelines combined, the Dracs have scored four times the number of points as the second place Pioners have across three games.

Now it may seem that Badalona are just going to aim for another 50 plus game versus the Pioners but they are the second place side for a reason, after their loss to Mallorca in week one L’Hospitalet came back with a vengeance shutting out the Pagesos 17-0 before a close victory over Zaragoza 13-12.
Going back to 2020, Badalona has been able to beat the Pioners five times in a row with some impressive scorelines to boot with the Dracs average victory over L’Hospitalet being 41-13.
However, with home field advantage on their side, L’Hospitalet will be looking to score the upset victory over a Dracs team that is definitely on a roll.
