The 3-3 Gijon Mariners will play host to the winless Santiago Black Ravens Saturday, March 24 in Spanish Football League sixth round action at the Las Mestas Sports Complex in Gijon.

The last time these two teams met the Mariners won easily 35-0. Gijon’s other two wins this year were against the Santurtzi Coyotes. The Mariners have not fared well against the two top teams in Group C, the Las Rozas Black Demons and Osos Rivas, losing to the Black Demons twice and Osos once.

Santiago, in their first ever appearance in Spain’s top league seem to be way out of their depth. They have not scored a single point in five games and have allowed an average of 40 points against.

Gijon needs to win this one to keep pace and stay above .500 for a playoff spot in Spain.
