LIVESTREAM Spain: Zaragoaza Hurricanes @ Mallorca Voltors, March 6, 12:00 CET (12 noon, 06:00 am ET)

The 1-3 Mallorca Voltors will play host to the 1-3 Zaragoza Hurricanes Sunday, March 6 as the Spanish National League of American Football winds up its fifth round of play.

The Voltors dropped the opening game of the season to Zaragoza, losing 41-35. Since then, the Spanish island squad has lost 47-0 to the Barbera Rookies, whipped the last place L’Hospitalet Pioners 28-3 and then lost a tough one to the Badalona Dracs, 35-13. For the Hurricanes, their only win was against Mallorca. Since that opening game victory, the southern Spain representatives were beaten 48-36 by the Pioners, 49-7 by the Dracs and 48-6 by Barbera.

The Voltors offense has struggled so far this season scoring a total of only 76 points in the four games played while the defense has allowed an average of 31.5 points per game. With a very young squad, head coach Jesus Sanchez is hoping for rapid development and if the loss to Badalona is any indication, they are moving in the right direction. The Dracs needed a strong second half to down Mallorca last week.

Mallorca’s Spanish quarterback Diego Lliteras has deadly wideout Jaylon Hibbs (Centre College) to throw to along with Canadian/Belgian wide receiver Matthew Craens Add to this running back Ronaldo Tomasello (Ball State) and the Voltors offense could come alive today

Hurricanes quarterback Kevin Doyle has faced the two best defenses in Spain in the last two games so expect to see him open up a little more against a less experienced Mallorca defense. His favorite targets Kyle Mucerion (Austin College) and Spanish wideout David Aaron will be dangerous for the Voltors secondary.

For Zaragoza, this game is a must win situation to maintain respectability. For Mallorca, it is a definite need-to-win game, playing on home field.
