LIVESTREAM: Spain – Zaragoza Hurricanes @Badalona Dracs, Sunday, Feb. 9, 11:30a CET (5:30a ET)

The defending champion Badalona Dracs (2-0) will play host to the Zaragoza Hurricanes (1-1) Sunday, February 9 at Barcelona’s Camp de Futbol Pomar as the Spanish League of American Football winds up its third weekend of play.

The Dracs beat the L’Hospitalet Pioners 40-21 last week in a comfortable win after struggling to get by Madrid’s Osos Rivas in the season opener. Meanwhile, Zaragoza were blanked 34-0 by Osos Rivas after downing the Gijon Mariners 8-6 in their first game of the year.

The Dracs added quarterback Anthony Gardner, a veteran of European football and a prolific passer. Gardner, who played for the Ingolstadt Dukes in the German Football League in 2019 and was the leading passer in the Austrian Football League in 2017 with the Ljubjana Silverhawks. Gardner proved his worth in last week’s win over the Pioners throwing six touchdown passes, two to Niko Lester, two to Marquese Surrell and one each to Guillem García and Charlemagne Take.

Zaragoza will be in tough today after being shut out last week. Mexican quarterback Alan Macedo, who played in Mexico’s Liga De Football Americano Profesional with the Osos, will need more time in the pocket to find his receivers. One of his main targets is Daniel Falcón.
