The Zaragoza Hurricanes (3-4) will visit the Gijon Mariners (0-7) as the Spanish League of American Football winds up the regular season.
Zaragoza and Gijon have been improving week to week and playing hard despite their losing records. Look for both teams to be hungry to finish their season with a win this Saturday.

The Zaragoza Hurricanes got a big win two weeks ago against the Mallorca Voltors. The star of the game was running Denzel Duchenne who scored three touchdowns. The former Virginia Union (NCAA D2) return man showed his breakaway speed, pulling away from defenders for long touchdown runs. The Hurricanes defense also played well, slowing down a potent Voltors passing attack. Look for Duchenne to have another big game for Zaragoza one last time this season. The Gijon Mariners know this is their last chance at a win. Look for them to feed running back Alex Herrero early and often. Herrero had an excellent game against the Fuengirola Potros two weeks ago. After playing a litany of positions throughout the season it seems the Mariners finally decided to give him the rock and watch him run.
Head coach Daniel Castañón will no doubt be making sure Herrero sees the ball frequently in hopes of a repeat performance this week.

“We play to the whistle, despite the results, we have the mentality to play this game until the end. We are driven by the hunger to compete.”
Both of these teams want to leave the frustrating 2021 season behind them and finish with a win. Zaragoza has extra motivation as they can finish the season a respectable 4-4 with a victory Saturday. On the other side look for the Mariners to take some risks as they are desperate to avoid a winless season.
