LIVE STREAM: Team Poland faces Sweden in International Friendly

Team Poland is getting set to host Sweden in Zabki, Poland Saturday, just outside of Warsaw, in their second international friendly of the year at Mosir Zabki Stadium.

This is the first game for Sweden’s “Tre Kronor” since losing a close decision to Finland a year ago. Poland lost a tough game to Denmark a month ago and is a team on the rise.

This isn’t the first meeting between these two countries. Sweden defeated Poland 27-14 in 2013.

Polish head coach Brad Arbon is looking forward to this game:

I am glad that we are facing another tough opponent. The game against Denmark left us looking for more. This game will let us play some of our less experienced players with a number of injuries to some of our starters. This will be a great test to see where we stand.”

Andreas Ehrenreich, head coach for Team Sweden is heading into only his first game as national team head coach:

The game vs Poland will be a good measuring stick for us in our development and the visions we have for our national team. Poland is a football community on the rise, in all aspects. We are thrilled to get this opportunity to see where we stand. This is the first and important chance to evaluate our players and staff. A great opportunity to get better.

Team Sweden enters the game with a 41 man roster represented by the Limhamn Griffins, Carlstad Crusaders, Örebro Black Knights, Uppsala 86ers, STU Northside Bulls, Stockholm Mean Machine and Tyresö Royal Crowns from Sweden. Two players from the Wasa Royals from Finland while one from Italy’s Lazio Marines are also on the squad.

The reigning Polish champion Wroclaw Panthers have 14 players on Team Poland’s 50 man squad, while the Warsaw Eagles are represented by 11.

Team Poland will likely start veteran Bartosz Dziedzic (Wroclaw Panthers) at quarterback while Coach Ehrenreich will likely make a game time decision between Philip Juhlin from the Carlstad Crusaders or Anders Hermodsson who played for the Lazio Marines in Italy this past season.

Both teams have fine receivers. Poland’s Tomasz Zubrycki (Primacol Lowlanders Białystok) was outstanding against Denmark. Sweden has an excellent receiving corps led by Jakob Dahre, André Holgård (Carlstad Crusaders) and Fredrik Isaksson (Tyresö Royal Crowns).
