The World University Championships wind up Sunday, June 24 with a key matchup as Team Mexico takes on Japan in a game which could determine the gold medal.
Mexico enters the game unbeaten after defeating Team USA 20-17. The Mexicans had beaten Korea 70-0 and China 69-0. Japan on the other hand had victories over Korea (32-0) and China.
Should Japan win the game there would be a three-way tie for first place between Japan, Mexico and Team USA and the points differential rule would then apply. In other words, which of the three teams has the best points for and against ratio.
