Mexico: Condors crush Dinos, Preston Bailey scores 2 TDs

The Condors unleashed their full offense in their final regular season game of the year in Mexico’s Liga de Futbol Americano Profesional (LFA), crushing the Dinos 55-15.

Condors quarterback Pérez Arvizu threw six touchdown passes, two to Andrés Salgado, two to Preston Bailey and one to Gerardo Aguilar. Defensive back Ramses Herrara scored on a pick six and backup quarterback Chávez Mess threw another touchdown pass to Salgado.

The Condors took a 34-9 halftime lead and never let up in the second half. Although the Dinos had already qualified for the playoffs and had nothing to play for, this was still an impressive display for the Condors.

Condors QB  Pérez Arvizu threw 6 TD passes

Leading 34-9 in the third quarter, the Condors kept the pressure up adding touchdown #seven as Gerardo Aguilar hauled in a touchdown pass from Arvizu. The Dinos scored to close the gap to 40-15, but the Condors came back with two more touchdowns and Bailey added a two point conversion.

Unfortunately, the win did not improve the standings for the Condors who had already been eliminated from playoff contention.

Next week’s semifinals will see the Dinos take on the Raptors who beat the Fundidores 34-21. In the other semifinal, the Mexicas and Mayas will clash.

The championship final, Tazón México III, takes place April 22.
