Mexico: Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional features 3 exciting matchups

The Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional heads into the third week of the 2022 season and another trio of solid matchups is in store.

From a battle of the undefeated to a fight for a first victory, these are the games on tap for Week 3.

Friday, March 18

Mexicas CDMX (1-1) @ Fundidores de Monterrey (1-1)

On Friday night, we have our first matchup of the week between two teams at opposite ends of the spectrum. The Mexicas won their first game of the season on a last second field goal last week after trailing for most of the game against the Raptors. On the other hand, the Fundidores are looking to win on their home opener after giving up a 10-0 lead and losing in overtime to their archrival, Saltillo

Saturday, March 19

Gallos Negros de Querétaro (1-0) @ Dinos de Saltillo (2-0)

Saturday features a doubleheader that starts with the game of the week where we have the only two undefeated teams in the LFA. The Gallos Negros were supposed to play last week against the Reyes, but their game was postponed to April 17. They are hoping the early bye week could give them rest after their 33-9 throttling of the Galgos in Week 1. As for the Dinos, they stand as the only 2-0 team following an overtime win against the Fundidores and are hoping to extend their unbeaten streak to 3-0 and also become the early favorite to win the Tazón Mexico.

Galgos de Tijuana (0-1) @ Reyes de Jalisco (0-1)

At the same time, we have our last game for the weekend, in what could be described as the “Tazón Expansión”. The Galgos and the Reyes are two new expansion teams for this season who are searching for their first wins of their inaugural seasons. The Galgos are hoping that their bye week got them motivated following their beatdown at home against the Gallos Negros. The Reyes meanwhile, feel like their momentum in the second half of their game against the Raptors before their (unintended) bye week could help give them the edge in this game.
