The Miami Dolphins and the Madrid Bravos have announced a long-term strategic partnership aimed at promoting American football and flag football across Spain. This collaboration brings together one of the NFL’s most iconic franchises and Europe’s emerging professional team to accelerate the sport’s growth at both grassroots and elite levels.
Grassroots growth and Olympic dreams
A central focus of the partnership will be expanding flag football programs in Spanish schools and clubs. With flag football set to debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, the initiative aims to introduce young athletes to the sport in a fun, accessible way. The Dolphins, who hold one of the NFL’s three official commercial rights in Spain, will work with the Bravos—the country’s only professional team in a European league—to train coaches, organize clinics, and create pathways for youth development.
Community engagement and shared vision
Beyond youth programs, the partnership will support community events like the Mama Bowl and Olympic Day, emphasizing family participation and inclusion. The Dolphins will also receive logistical support for brand activations throughout Spain, strengthening their presence in the market. Jaime Martín, General Manager of the Madrid Bravos, called the alliance a “decisive step” for football in Spain, highlighting the opportunity to combine local experience with global vision. Felipe Formiga, Vice President of International Business Development for the Miami Dolphins, praised the Bravos for their work in growing the sport and affirmed the Dolphins’ commitment to Spanish fans.
Building a football future together
The initiative, titled “From Miami to Madrid: Building the Future of Football,” encompasses educational programs, talent exchanges, and content co-creation between the two organizations. By aligning the Dolphins’ international strategy with the Bravos’ on-the-ground expertise, the partnership aims to make Madrid the epicenter of American football in Europe while ensuring sustainable growth for the sport across Spain. For fans and aspiring players, this collaboration promises more opportunities to engage with the game—from flag football leagues to professional inspiration—bridging the gap between Miami’s NFL legacy and Madrid’s ambitious football future.
