Minnesota Vikings community reels from tragic loss of Rondale Moore

The Minnesota Vikings are mourning the sudden passing of wide receiver Rondale Moore, who died Saturday at age 25 from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in his Indiana hometown.

An organization in mourning
The team issued a statement expressing they are “deeply saddened by the passing of Rondale Moore,” confirming they’ve contacted his family to “offer our condolences and the full support of the Minnesota Vikings.” The organization emphasized they are “working to understand the facts” while making counseling resources available to all players, coaches and staff affected by the tragedy.

A respectful teammate remembered
Head coach Kevin O’Connell shared heartfelt words, stating, “I am devastated by the news of Rondale’s death,” and remembering him as “a humble, soft-spoken, and respectful young man who was proud of his Indiana roots.” O’Connell noted that while Moore never appeared in a regular-season game for Minnesota due to injury, the team had “come to know him well and care about deeply,” expressing particular sorrow that the young receiver wouldn’t “continue to live out his NFL dream.”
